A wonderful Open Door was held at Melsbroek airbase to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Belgian military transport wing.

The event was also honoured by the presence of Mister Peter De Crem, Belgian Minister of Defense.

All the aircraft used by the 15th Wing were exhibited, but on could also see F-16, Alpha Jet, Seaking and Marchetti.
Old flying machines came also at Melsbroek to illustrate the aircraft of the past : B-25 Mitchell, Harvard, DH-89 Dominie, and of course a splendid DC-3 Dakota remebering the origin of the transport wing.

Many activities where foreseen for the public like flight simulators, visit of the maintenance section, engine test stand, engine shop, survival equipment section, Rav Air equipement and many others in order to show the public the various possibilities of a military job.

The Open Door was also the occasion to commemorate the 15 years of the Air Support Unit of the Belgian Federal Police.
