On Friday, September 12, 2008, a brand new exhibition relating the prestigious history of the Transport Wing of Melsbroek was inaugurated at the Dakota Historical Center.
An overview is given about the history of Melsbroek airbase during World War II and all the various allied squadrons which were based near Brussels. The 60 years of the Wing are covered and many items are drawn from most of the African missions flown by our pilots. It is quite an interesting overview regarding this prestigious Wing.
This inauguration was also the occasion to present the brand new book written by the Colonel Avi Hre Piet Claes, relating the 60 years of history of the Belgian "Sioux".
