On Wednesday April 10, 2019, Beauvechain airbase organised its Beauvechain Airbase Day 2019 (BAB 2019), providing this event to present the various units of the airbase and the aircraft of the Belgian Air Force (BAF), emphasizing on the aircraft stationed at Beauvechain airbase : the A109, the NH90 and the SF260 Marchetti.

Besides the numerous military booths and trails, several civilian associations were also present giving the visitors a good insight in both disciplines, working closely together.
From 1000 till 1700, the public had the opportunity to wander around these booths, experience various activities (f.e. climbing tower, 'junior air commando' trail and much more...) and have a closer look at the aircraft in the static display.

Throughout the day, several flying displays were also flown. Twice the Red Devils with their freshly painted Marchetti's (celebrating 50 years in service with the BAF ) : twice the A109 display team (the first one flown without flares) ; a dynamic presentation with the Special Forces with a German NH90, two Belgian A109 and two F-16 ; skydivers ; F-16 solo display (Vador and his Dark Falcon) ; the NH90 display from Koksijde...

The first edition of the Beauvechain Air Base Day "Runway Run" concluded this sunny day.

Part of the profits of this event were donated to charity organisations supported by the airbase units : FONAVIBEL (www.fonavibel.be), 't Prieeltje (www.prieeltje.com) and L'Essentiel (www.asblessentiel.be).
