The Fly To Your Dream area  (Serge Van Heertum)

Beauvechain was host to the seventh edition of the “Fly To Your Dream” jobday of the Air Component organised by the Belgian Defence on April 08th, 2015. During the day people between 16 and 33 years of age had the possibility to have an in depth look at the various career opportunities within the Air Component ranging from pilot, air traffic controller to many more technical and non-technical jobs.
Visitors had also the possibility to taste the military life in operations, witness an airfield attack by F-16's and flight demonstrations of the Red Devils, the A-109 and the NH-90 MTH. Of the 266 registered youngsters, 233 were present which, according to officials, was more than last year.
Defence is recruiting three categories of personnel : soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers ranging from electro-technicians to pilots, from paracommandos to sailors and is not only looking for masters but also for bachelors in various specialities like electronics-ICT and electromechanics...
700 personnel made up of 120 officers, 260 non-commissioned officers and 320 soldiers and sailors will find their way to a new career within the Belgian defence in 2015. 122 jobs are withheld for the Air Component.
