July 16, 2014 saw a small event at the Koksijde airbase. The doors were opened for a first public presentation of the new NH90 helicopter which soon will replace our aging Seakings (a second open door is planned on August 27).
Under a beautiful sun, which made us regret no flights were foreseen, we could admire the three different versions which still will be flying along the coast side by side for some time: the venerable Seaking, the Alouette III and a superb example of the helicopter which will replace both types within our Air Force : the Airbus Helicopter NH90 NFH. Three helicopters for a very big public attendance...
Something to leave us nostalgic about big airshows which, some years ago, we were used to see under a summer holiday sun at our Belgian coast.
