For the Air Force the start of the year means the launch of the recruitment campaign for the year to come. In 2014 some 1400 jobs are to be provided for within the Defence department. These 1400 jobs include also 21 pilots. To attract young candidates between 16 and 26 years old, a "Fly to Your Dream" day was organized at the Beauvechain airbase on March 07, 2014 starting a national recruitment campaign.
About 300 youngsters showed up to gather information about the possibilities of a military aviation career. By the accounts of the various coaches, all were highly motivated. This day allowed us to have a closer look at the NH-90 TTH on the ground as well as in the air, to see the new paint of the Siai Marchetti SF.260 (at first on the D-models), some demonstrations of an airfield attack by F-16 from Kleine brogel and Florennes.
We would like to thank DG Com and ComOpsAir
IPR for the accreditation and particularly AdjtChef
Philippe 'Smurf' Van Huyck,
our POC for the day.
