This year, the first Duxford air show of the 2012 season was under the sign of the diamond jubilee of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This gave us an opportunity to see some of the finest and best English aviation .
In the Spitfires, Hurricanes and Meteors country, the usual atmosphere of Duxford, well known for his famous "flying legends" air show, the opportunity was given to watch  several aircraft displays of the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy (Tucano T1, Tutor, King Air, Hawk, Sea King, Lynx and Typhoon), some of the aircraft presented in static display, some others like the jets based at Mildenhall.
Besides the modern aircraft flying demonstrations, there was, and this is quite normal at Duxford, some presentations of war birds often related to the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (Hurricanes, Hawker Fury, Spitfires trio, T.6 Texan, Chipmunks, Avro Anson, B.17 and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster).
For me the best of all, was a magnificent demonstration of a Gloster Meteor T.7 under the blazing sun .... a marvel that alone was worth the trip. This aircraft was recently restored and let us hope that he will cross sometimes the channel to be presented on the continent!
But for us (Sylvain and myself), the most  important was the first public performance of our new Belgian F-16AM Solo Display.  Under the beautiful sun and a cloudless blue sky, Captain Renaud “Grat” Thys of Florennes 350 Squadron did
a perfect demonstration highly appreciated by an international public that looked forward to see the new colors of the Belgian Solo Display ..... Congratulations “Grat”, you did a wonderful performance!
