Florennes air base in the Belgian Ardennes was the place chosen by the authorities for the official presentation of the demonstration teams 2012 and to present the great lines of the international airshow planned on 23rd and 24th of June.
The international airshow of florennes is divided in five main parts: The flying display with the participation of different demonstration teams, historical aircraft and no less as five F-16 solo display (Belgium, Netherland, Denemark, Turkey and Greece). The static display with last generation jets, Helicopters, transport aircraft and historical old glories. An historical display is also planned with many vehicles and players in historical clothing to underline the 70 years of Florennes airbase. The usual exhibition with man and material of the base to show what the life is in an operational air force base. And finally the official presentation of two new publications proposed to the visitors. One publication about the begin of Florennes airbase between 1943 and 1955 written by Colonel er André "Phil" Dambly and the first part of a comic named "Scramble" written and draw by the Cdt Fabian "Goos" Goossens a Florennes airbase pilot.
All needed information about the most important Belgian Air Force event can be reitrived via the airshow web site (link bottom of page).
The second part of the day was the official presentation of the 2012 demonstration teams that will show the Belgian Air Force knowhow in the European airshow circuit. You will find hereunder the presentation of the "Red Devils", the A109 solo display and the new F-16AM display pilot "Grat". Sadly due really bad weather conditions and heavy smog in the area, only the A109 was able to make a little demonstration. But the great and interesting part of the presentation was the possibility to interview the pilots and technicians.
So take your agenda, block the 23rd and 24th of June and be present at Florennes to enjoy the spectacle and the aviation world!
