The Schaffen Fly In is one of the awaited yearly summer aeronautical event. This year was held the 28th edition and as usual this aeronautical fair had an international caracter with the presence of British, German, Austrian, French, Netherlands and many others country old flying machines. Sadly the general bad weather of the 2011 summer made that some foreseen aircraft and pilot had cancelled their participation as unusual result that the airfield was half full. Most of the British pilots arrived on Friday for the week-end decided to left the event earlier on Saturday afternoon in stead of Sunday regarding the serious weather degradation and the real bad previsions for Sunday.
But the Schaffen fly in 2011 was again organised professionally and self with the rain it was well an aeronautical fair combined with old timer cars, military vehicles and a attractive village with many shops were everybody could find the needed model, book or patch missing a collection.
Time to watch now some of beautiful aircraft present at Schaffen on Saturday...
SBAP team would like to thanks the organisers and especially Mister Guy Valvekens for the press organisation and the granted facilities.
Rendez-vous next year...with the sun, the fair and our loved aircrafts !
