From July 18 till 21, 2005 the 'limburg' base of Kleine Brogel was home of an integrated exercise, gathering some 70 aircraft from different horizons, including some former east countries like Poland, Romania or Czech Republic. It is impossible to enumerate all of these, the photopages give it all away.

The first 2 days' program saw DACT (Dissimilar Air Combat Training) training exercises.

These were small exercises limiting the number of participating aircraft.

On wednesday July 20, during the Spotter Day, a much bigger exercise was planned.

The COMAO (Combined Air Operation) was led by about forty airplanes. Based on a complex scenario, this exercise aimed at a multinational operational integration.
The whole operation was controlled by the NATO operational center at KALKAR in Germany.

Not only did the Spotter Day bring thousands of passionated people to the base, it also allowed to see some "invited" aircraft and also to see the aircraft of COMOPSAIR particpating in the flight rehearsal of the fly-past for the National Feast-day.

In all, a beautiful day for the enthousiasts amongst us and very well organised by the airbase of KB.

We would like to thank the staff of KB as well as the General Staff in the person of Lieutenant Grégory Bogaerts, for his care and obligingness to the members of the press !
